Differences Between 2019 Kia Soul & 2019 Honda Fit
Serving Cincinnati, OH, Fairfield, OH, and Springfield, OH
The 2019 Kia Soul competes directly with the 2019 Honda Fit. The Fit has a lower starting price, but that's reflected in the lack of standard features. The Fit is fun to drive, but it comes with only one engine choice. The 2019 Soul offers multiple powertrain combinations, and it also bests the Fit in the category of infotainment.
Interior Design and Passenger Comfort
The most notable thing about the 2019 Kia Soul is the tall, boxy yet appealing design. It boasts a spacious, airy cabin and tall passengers will have no problem getting comfortable in this crossover. Rear privacy glass, adjustable front seats, and 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks are standard on the base trim. The 2019 Honda Fit has a sleek outward appearance, but the sloping roofline means trouble for taller passengers in the rear seating area.
Powertrain Options
All 2019 Honda Fit trims are powered by a 1.5L engine. The total output is just 130 horsepower, and this drops slightly if continuously variable transmission is chosen. The CVT automatic also means slow acceleration response. The real upside is good fuel efficiency. The 2019 Kia Soul base trim is powered by a 1.6L engine with similar horsepower ratings, but buyers can choose a 2.0L, four-cylinder engine by purchasing the Soul Plus trim. This engine is rated at 161 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Soul Exclaim comes with a turbocharged version of this engine for a total output of 201 horsepower. The Exclaim also gets a dual-clutch, seven-speed automatic transmission. With the available Sport Mode, engine response is quickened considerably.
Infotainment
There's no getting away from the importance buyers place on advanced high-tech and safety systems. The 2019 Kia Soul base model comes with a rearview camera, Bluetooth, a 5-inch screen display, a USB port, and a six-speaker sound system. The Convenience package can be ordered for the base trim, and this includes a larger screen display, voice recognition, and smartphone app integration. Buyers can also choose additional packages for the Plus and Exclaim trim, and these add on such niceties as LED speaker lights, an additional USB port, a Harman Kardon sound system, and the full driver awareness and safety systems suite. The screen display is extremely easy to navigate, and the physical buttons make for quick switching between screens. The 2019 Honda Fit comes with a four-speaker sound system for the base trim, and the forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control are available only if automatic transmission is chosen. Blind-spot monitoring isn't available. The Fit also comes with a quirky infotainment system with difficult-to-use buttons.
The 2019 Kia Soul is a real bargain, and it gets excellent fuel mileage. Combine these selling points with the unbeatable warranty and excellent safety scores, and you have yourself a real deal.
