Differences Between 2019 Kia Niro & 2019 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid
Serving Cincinnati, OH, Fairfield, OH, and Springfield, OH
The 2019 Kia Niro and Hyundai Ioniq are two hybrids that will get you around in complete style and comfort. The Kia Niro is a hybrid crossover, with plenty of room for your loved ones to kick back and enjoy the ride. The Ioniq is a compact hybrid car that’s nothing if not fuel-efficient. So which is the best choice for your daily drive? Our comparison guide delves into this question and more.
Performance
Although both the 2019 Kia Niro and Hyundai Ioniq do an excellent job of conserving fuel, the Niro is our favorite daily driver. This crossover might earn up to 52 city / 49 highway mpg, but it also zooms around town in style. Thanks to its driver-selectable transmission settings, the Niro can be as efficient or as sporty as you prefer. The Niro also provides plenty of low-end torque, so you can jump off the line in a flash. Back on the Hyundai Ioniq, you’ll find plenty of fuel economy, with EPA ratings of up to 57 city/59 highway mpg. However, these incredible figures do cost you in terms of performance. The Kia Niro is the quicker, sportier ride.
Interior Comfort
In terms of passenger comfort, the 2019 Kia Niro is also our first choice. Its crossover cabin offers impressive head- and legroom in both rows, so there’s plenty of room for your growing kids. We’re also big fans of the Kia Niro’s supportive, comfortable seating and luxury options. These options include leather upholstery and heated-and-ventilated front seats. The Hyundai Ioniq also has its high points. It, too, offers a long list of creature comforts, including heated seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. However, as a compact car, the Ioniq just isn’t as roomy as the Kia Niro.
Tech and Safety Features
Once again, the 2019 Kia Niro comes out on top. For starters, we’re big fans of its infotainment system, which is easy to use and comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for complete smartphone integration. The Niro even comes standard with Kia’s Uvo eServices apps suite, which can send help when you’re having engine trouble or get into an accident. The Hyundai Ioniq is also stocked with infotainment features, making it easy to stay connected on the go. However, you might miss the Niro's eServices telematics system, especially if something goes wrong.
The 2019 Kia Niro is our overall favorite hybrid, and we think you’ll agree that it’s the right choice for your daily drive.
