Performance
Along with its sporty look and tight, responsive steering, the compact Soul has much to offer in the way of power and performance. Larger wheels in 2019 give the Soul more power to match its surprisingly powerful four-cylinder engine. The latest Soul is available with three different engines based on trim level. The base is a 1.6L engine with a capacity of 130 HP and 118 LB-FT of torque. You can choose manual or automatic for a transmission. The mid-grade engine is a 2.0L that produces 161 HP and 150 LB-FT of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The top-line engine is a turbocharged 1.6L engine that produces over 200 HP and 195 LB-FT of torque. A seven-speed automatic transmission is standard.
Interior and Features
On the inside, the Soul is more generously equipped with technology than most vehicles of its size and class. Technology that you'll get in the Soul includes an infotainment system with Bluetooth and audio controls mounted to the steering wheel. An all-power interior makes getting into the car and driving easier and more convenient. The base trim, called the Soul, features cloth seats. But as you go up in trim level, you'll be riding more comfortably by the time you reach the Exclaim trim level, which offers black leather seats. A five-inch infotainment system is standard on the base models, while the Exclaim gets a seven-inch display screen.
Safety
You only have so many eyes and ears to assist with driving, but the Soul steps in to give you much-needed driver assistance. Airbags surrounding the cabin deploy when the crossover is hit from all angles. The seatbelts have pretensioners for added safety. Front and rear crumple zones and fortified door beams deflect energy from a crash. Automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and lane departure warning are available.
With plenty of zip and pizzazz, the 2019 Soul is a car that you will enjoy driving for miles to come. Three unique trim levels pave the way for customization, while available amenities at all trim levels give you even more options for a custom ride.
