Differences Between 2019 Kia Sedona & 2019 Honda Odyssey

Serving Cincinnati, OH, Fairfield, OH, and Springfield, OH

Having a three-row configuration for eight people, the 2019 Kia Sedona and 2019 Honda Odyssey are minivans with premium amenities and robust mechanical platforms. The signature UVO technology offers more connectivity options than the Honda Link platform. Both models have multi-zone climate control, leather upholstery, adjustable rear seats with signature technology and other convenient features for passengers.

Electronic Technology

The 8.0-inch color touch screen in the 2019 Kia Sedona has the newest edition of the UVO eServices platform. GPS navigation software is set up in the signature infotainment system of this high-tech minivan. Several security features are included in the multimedia hub, such as roadside assistance and 911 Connect. Compatible with most smartphones, the UVO application includes numerous convenient features, like the Parking Minder. You can use the My POIs and Send-to-Car functions to enhance the navigation system in the cockpit. The Critical Diagnostics Alert is another helpful amenity in the EVO eServices. Some notable utilities in the My Car Zone include the Curfew Limit, Speed Alert and Geofence Alert. The Sedona offers premium entertainment with a DVD player that could be synced with dual tablets in the second row. An audio system by Harman Kardon is available in this Kia minivan. Acoustics are optimized by the Clari-Fi and Surround Sound technology. The HondaLink technology in the 2019 Odyssey simply doesn't match the UVO eServices.

Safety

The 2019 Sedona has the all-new Park Distance Warning-Forward & Reverse System, which uses multiple sonar sensors to identify obstacles. Four independent cameras send real-time views of the surroundings to the Surround View Monitor that's integrated into the navigation display. In critical situations on the highway, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist reduces the Sedona's speed. This automatic braking function has the Pedestrian Detection technology. The Smart Cruise Control is another feature that can lower the car's speed in relation to traffic flow. By monitoring your behavior behind the steering wheel, the Driver Attention Warning determines if you're distracted. This Kia minivan also has sensors that check your blind spots on the road and in parking lots. Despite its acclaimed design, the 2019 Odyssey's Honda Sensing technology falls just short of this Kia's active safety features.

Convenience

The Smart Key allows for remote keyless entry into the 2019 Sedona. You can fold the electronic key for convenient carrying inside a pocket, bag or purse. A tri-zone automatic climate control system is available in this premium minivan. Similarly, the 2019 Honda Odyssey has three different zones in the climate control system. Both models have cup holders in all three rows. Sunshades are integrated into the second and third rows of the Sedona. Additionally, this model has the Slide-n-Stow technology in the second-row seats. The Odyssey has the trademark Magic Seats with sliding capability in the second row.
